Ben Carson Seems To Think Everyone Has A Shady Past — Like Him

Ben Carson seemed to imply recently that CNN anchor John Berman may have a shady past when he responded to a question about Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump’s embattled campaign manager. Appearing on CNN’s “At This Hour” hosted by Berman and Kate Bolduan, the unflappable pitchman for Trump tried to defend the billionaire’s top aide’s troubles in his usual dull way.

Asked if Lewandowski  should stay in charge despite the problems he is facing, Dr. Carson summed it up as only he can by saying:

Well, I mean a lot of people have been charged with various things. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we need to demonize them.”

The good doctor then attempted to turn the tables on Berman with this observation:

You’ve probably been charged with something too, maybe with a misdemeanor or something. It doesn’t mean that you’re an evil, horrible person.”

An obviously taken-aback Berman then replied:

“I actually haven’t as far as I know.”

Lewandowski, who previously worked for the Republican National Committee, and the Koch brother’s super-PAC Americans For Prosperity, is charged with simple battery for grabbing a reporter who approached Trump during a recent rally.

What makes Carson’s support for the bombastic huckster so strange is that earlier in the campaign season, Trump referred to Carson as a pathological liar while comparing him to a child molester. Even with Carson’s own shady criminal past, that was a low-blow.

For his part, the droopy-eyed surrogate has spoken about Trump in less than flattering terms while stumping for him on the campaign trail.

The former Republican presidential candidate has stated on more than one occasion that other people can run this country rather than who he chose to throw his support behind.

Politics does indeed make strange bedfellows, and none is stranger than the low energy ex-candidate who supports the loud, pompous showman. Too bad Ben Carson is adding more fuel to the “Stop Trump” movement than helping his boss.
