Ivana Trump: Donald’s Wrong, We Need Immigrants. ‘Who’s Going To Vacuum Our Living Rooms?’

So, I bet you thought that Donald Trump’s racist, xenophobic comments were simply a part of his presidential campaign.

Nope. They clearly go back to his first wife, the lovely Ivana. In an interview with the New York Post, Ivana expressed her (sort of?) belief in immigration. Acknowledging that she is an immigrant herself, having come to the US from the Czech Republic, Ivana stated that her ex-husband’s take on immigrants is completely correct.

Clearly, Ivana believes that immigrants play a key role in American prosperity.

“As long as you come here legally and get a proper job … we need immigrants. Who’s going to vacuum our living rooms and clean up after us? Americans don’t like to do that.”

The former wife of the GOP frontrunner went on to state that she (unlike her ex) has “nothing against Mexicans.” However, she went on:

“But if they [come] here — like this 19-year-old, she’s pregnant, she crossed over a wall that’s this high. She gives birth in American hospital, which is for free. The child becomes American automatically,” she said. “She brings the whole family, she doesn’t pay the taxes, she doesn’t have a job, she gets housing, she gets the food stamps. Who’s paying? You and me.”

She didn’t provide any actual names/date/information, so one can assume that the above statements are more about political positions, and less about actual stories.

At any rate, the former Mrs. Trump has made it abundantly clear that when the 1 percent think about “immigrants,” they are thinking about who they can take advantage of when their bathrooms become too gross to even think about. They are visualizing the brown mothers who will come into the house to take away the garbage.

The former Mrs. Trump, thrown over for a younger version, has made it clear that she holds onto her belief that immigration into the United States is not about providing a better life for those who struggle to overcome poverty, war, disease. For her, and for those who live in her shiny little bubble of entitlement, immigration is all about assuring a continuing flow of peons who will clean up whatever shit they leave behind.
