VIRAL VIDEO: This British Veteran Begs Us Not To Hate Muslims – AFTER Losing His Leg In Iraq

The story of a British soldier losing his leg to a bomb in Iraq has gone viral and touched many peoples hearts.

Chris Herbert is a British soldier who was only 19 years old when he lost his leg in Iraq. The vehicle he was riding in was hit by a roadside bomb in Basra. The bomb killed his friend, injured another person, and forced Herbert to accept living the rest of his life without his right leg.

Because of his Iraq experience, he has received unwanted attention ever since the bombs in Paris.

Since a Muslim caused his injury, many people expect him to be Islamophobic, so he felt he had to make a statement to put things straight.

That’s why he posted a powerful message on Facebook, explaining:

“Getting frustrated by some people expecting racism from me, because I got blown up.”

He points out that white Brits have also done unpleasant things to him in his life, and highlights the absurdity of judging a whole group of people based on the deeds of a few:

“Blaming all Muslims for the actions of groups like Daeshe and the Taliban, is like blaming all Christians for the actions of the KKK or Westboro Baptist Church.”

Herbert has taken a strong stand against racism, and has a message for those who don’t:

“If you want to hate an entire race of men and women for the actions of a few d***heads feel free, but don’t push your views on me, thinking I am an easy target because one d******** decided it was my day to die.”

The post, which is basically a list of Muslims who has helped him, has since gone viral.

It was posted only a day after Donald Trump’s announcement suggesting that the U.S. ban all Muslims from entering the country. Given the roaring response from Trump’s followers, Herbert’s message is an important one and worth pondering, especially for those lacking interaction with people of Muslim faith.

Herbert’s post end with a simple summons:

“Get a grip of your lives, hug your family and get back to work.”
