Over the entire course of his campaign, Donald Trump has never attempted to shy away from aggressive rhetoric. From his attacks on immigrants and Muslims to his criticism of the current economic condition, criticism (or, outright attack) has been the major selling point. A recent Donald Trump ad was pulled off the air in Ohio for violating legal restrictions, and Trump recently doubled down on the aggressive attitude of his ads. A short video was posted on Donald Trump’s Instagram and has already received over fifty six thousand likes on the social media website.
The video features Russian President Putin pinning an opponent in a martial arts match, Hillary Clinton barking, and an ISIS soldier pointing a gun towards the camera. Scenes are prefaced by a simple page of text, calling President Putin’s martial arts prowess one of America’s toughest opponents.
This Donald Trump ad is a fifteen second clip that appears quickly put together, with cliche dramatic music opening up the video. It looks less like it was released by the front runner of a major political party with a full campaign staff of professionals, and more like a woefully underfunded third party candidate whose very running is laughable. Trump’s caption on his Instagram reads:
“Is this what we want for a President?”
Which is pretty ironic considering this Donald Trump ad looks like it was slapped together by a student who forgot he had an assignment due.
