Cruz Draws The Line At Trump Shooting Someone

At the onset of his campaign, Sen. Ted Cruz said he would support the Republican nominee for the presidency. Now, with the threat of a Trump nomination looming, Cruz decides to have some standards.

“I can give you one example where I would no longer support Donald Trump. If for example, he were to go out on Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, I would not be willing to support Donald Trump.” Cruz said.

In most elections it would go without saying that a candidate would lose legitimacy for shooting someone, but truly, there are no levels too absurd for this particular election. The example Cruz cited isn’t even some off-the-wall remark on his part. At a rally in Iowa, Trump had boasted that his supporters would remain loyal to him, no matter what he did.

“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, okay, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, okay? It’s, like, incredible.” Trump said.

Apparently he is just as amazed as the rest of the world by his popularity.

Well, it looks like Ted Cruz isn’t afraid to stand up and say that Trump would lose at least one supporter if he were to follow through on his word. Man of honor that he claims to be, Cruz may sit idly by while Trump makes ridiculous claims, endorses hate, and promotes war crimes (actually Cruz also supports those), but by God, there is some limit to what he will tolerate.

This could be Cruz’s way of calling Trump’s bluff. Daring the real estate mogul to cross that last line and take some action instead of just blowing hot air. Cruz is inviting Trump to prove his claims and no man who has to defend his penis size at a national debate could resist such a challenge. If Trump were jailed for shooting someone Cruz could lock in his own nomination. It’s ingenious in it’s simplicity. Well played Sen. Cruz. Your move Trump.
