Here’s The Donald’s Health Care Plan–Just As Pathetic As You’d Expect

Sound the trumpets and gather round the entire family! Donald Trump has finally released his recommended replacement for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which he just loves to say is a big mess. You may recall at the last GOP debate, Trump kept repeating the same phrase about eliminating the “lines between the states” to increase competition among insurance companies. And now we have his plan listed in black and white and announced on Twitter:

Here’s the highlights of Trump’s nonsensical approach to health care in the United States:

  • He would eliminate the individual mandate, even though that is one of the most important features of Obamacare
  • Individuals would be allowed to “fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns.” Even though this would blow a hole in the deficit the size of China
  • There is no mandate that insurance companies must cover pre-existing conditions, even though he has said that MUST be retained if Obamacare is replaced
  • “[R]emove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products.” So I guess that means Trump plans to eliminate the FDA, too

Yep, it’s a ridiculous plan, which is what you would expect from a man as juvenile and ignorant of actual policy as Trump is. He thinks he understands what is being said at debates when serious matters are discussed, but he doesn’t. This is a man who thinks the solution to any problem is to offer empty platitudes and repeat worn-out phrases such as, “Make America great again.” It’s like something you’d see from a fifth grader running for student body President.

Face it, Donald Trump has nothing but bluster and buffoonery. He may be a great showman–perhaps the best since P.T Barnum–but he is an empty-headed moron who cannot even manage to run his own business without filing for bankruptcy on multiple occasions. He is an embarrassment to the United States and to humanity.

This is your solution to health care, Donald? And our solution to you is to unite and defeat you at every turn, especially in November.
