You may recall that just last week, Pope Francis, asked about those who want to build a wall to keep out immigrants, said that a person advocating such a move would not be, in his opinion, a Christian. Instead, the Pontiff noted, we should all seek to build bridges instead of walls.

In response, Trump went on a bizarre rant in which he said that when ISIS attacks the Vatican, the Pope will wish he was in the White House.

And now one of Trump’s rabid disciples has decided to weigh in on the issue, as if she’s some kind of Biblical expert. In a religious debate, my money’s on Pope Francis.

Susan DeLemus, who also happens to be a state representative in New Hampshire, had this posting on social media:

When she was called out for those posts, DeLemus remarked:

“I was actually referencing the papacy. And what I wrote after that ‘do your research,’ if you read the Geneva Bible, which is the Bible I use when we study, the commentary is – actually by the founders of the United States actually, the Protestant Church – their commentary references the papacy as the anti-Christ.”

Are those the same founders that thought it was perfectly cool to own slaves, Ms. DeLemus? Would you like to return to those days? Women had no right to vote, either. Does that sound like an idea you can endorse?

So-called “evangelical Republicans” are about the most non-Christian people on the face of the earth. As long as you agree with them, they like you just fine. But the moment you dare contradict them or call them out for their blatant hatred of anyone the least bit unlike them, they want to cast you into hell and call you the anti-Christ.

If Sister DeLemus wants to see the devil, she should go look in the mirror.
