Bachmann: Americans Need To ‘Get A Brain’ And Realize The Bible Is The Only Logical Basis For Society

While showing off what can only be considered her singular talent while on crackpot historical revisionist David Barton’s program, hyper-conservative ghoul Michele Bachmann made a vacuous claim that Americans need to “get a brain” and realize the Bible is the only logical basis for a productive, competitive society.

Interestingly, when Bachmann and Barton entered the same room, the combined idiocy didn’t cause Earth to implode.

Bachmann’s suggestion that the American people go off to the Emerald City came on the Feb. 19 episode of Barton’s “Foundations of Freedom” television series, which airs on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) — the same Bible-thumping a-holes who still think “Davey and Goliath” has any redeeming value on children.

On the program, Bachmann agreed with Barton’s jackass claim that the Bible provided a framework for ideas to compete with each other, allowing “the winning one [to] come out on top.” The Crypt Keeper Michele Bachmann responded with the following:

“You could summarize [the philosophy] by saying, ‘get a brain.’ I mean, that’s kind of what it is. Get a brain and figure it out. Don’t you want to live better? Don’t you want to be more prosperous? Don’t you want to be happier? Don’t you want to be free? Don’t you want poor people to do well? Don’t you want to love your neighbor? If you want all those things, David, you would embrace competition with both arms and you’d want a biblical basis for your society just like the Pilgrims, through their example, gave us, that they embraced for us, just like George Washington and the founders, when they dedicated this nation to God at the inauguration, in the very first seconds of life of this country.”

The program is enough to feel your brain cells commit suicide en masse.

There are so many things wrong with what Steve Buscemi Michele Bachmann said. Firstly, saying that Americans need to “get a brain” is remarkably condescending. Also, one could say that’s the pot calling the kettle black, considering this is the same cretin who is known around the land for confusing a well-known actor with a well-known serial killer.

Secondly, this zealot has the audacity to insinuate that the achievement of a better life, prosperity, happiness, freedom, and love can only be achieved by forming society around a book that heavily features a homicidal, taxing deity with low self-esteem that demands slaughter, allows needless suffering, causes misery, sanctions slavery, and promotes violence and bigotry against those who do not believe in him.

Thirdly, and for the love of Odin, the United States is in no way, in any shape or form or fashion, dedicated to God. This example of Christian self-importance needs to be stopped, immediately!

Fourthly, this program is hosted by a man who is referred to as “one of the foremost Christian revisionist historians,” whose work pushes the idea that the United States was explicitly founded as a Christian nation and is based upon research that many historians consider to be flawed. Barton’s credentials as a historian are “self-taught” and his 2012 book, The Jefferson Lies, was so egregiously put together and riddled with so many factual errors that ten conservative Christian historians responded negatively to each claim the book made and the publisher, the Christian-oriented Thomas Nelson, removed the book from publication.

The Jefferson Lies, considered to be the “least credible history book in print was so bad, other people and entities who agree with Barton’s batshit ideas claim he went too far.

Unfortunately, people buy into this crap, even though it makes about as much sense as Michele Bachmann’s husband being a heterosexual.

Robert could go on about how he was raised by honey badgers in the Texas Hill Country, or how he was elected to the Texas state legislature as a 19-year-old wunderkind, or how he won 219 consecutive games of Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots against Hugh Grant, but those would be lies. However, Robert does hail from Lewisville, Texas, having been transplanted from Fort Worth at a young age. Robert is a college student and focuses his studies on philosophical dilemmas involving morality, which he feels makes him very qualified to write about politicians. Reading the Bible turned Robert into an atheist, a combative disposition toward greed turned him into a humanist, and the fact he has not lost a game of Madden football in over a decade means you can call him "Zeus."
