Glenn Beck Weeps In S.C.: ‘Our Bible And Constitution Both Come From God’

What a surprise, the Bible and the Constitution made it into the Republican presidential race again courtesy of Glenn Beck. Other than the occasional TV appearance, Glenn Beck has been rather silent for a while. This past weekend though, the founder of The Blaze appeared before a crowd in South Carolina at the Morning Star Fellowship Church.

Giving his support to Ted Cruz, Beck gave a religious filled speech to the crowd as he urged them to vote for Cruz. While Cruz is no stranger to fear-mongering and warning people of losing their religious freedoms and constitutional rights, Beck took it to a whole new level.

After speaking about predicting 9/11 and the 2008 housing crisis, Beck went on to “get emotional” as he said:

“I am begging you, please do not dismiss the peril that we are in, do not dismiss. Fall to your knees and pray to God to reveal to you what the hour is. Ask the dear Lord, our dear Lord, to show you who the man is that has the integrity, who has the connection, who will fall to his knees at the resolute desk. Who before he asks, doesn’t think of a poll, but looks to the Constitution and the holy scriptures. Our Bible and the Constitution both come from God. They are both sacred scriptures.”

I trust the reader will be able to see the absurdity of these statements, but Beck wasn’t done. He went on to say:

“I testify to you that I see a storm coming, and God does have a place for each and every one of us. It is your job now to be able to sleep at night, to go door to door, to talk to every person you know, to find the candidate that will stand where God is telling him to stand in an unshakable way. Get your family to vote, get your friends to vote, you cannot stand on the sideline, it is not enough for you just to go out and vote. You must be an evangelist for the Constitution of the United States. This is your last call America. Stand, stand, for the man I believe was raised for this hour: Ted Cruz.”

I suddenly feel like I’ve been to some sort of cult meeting. With all due respect to my religious friends, Beck is using one of religions most trusted methods of getting people to obey: Guilt. As I’ve said before, Ted Cruz is dangerous, and it would be a mistake to underestimate the man.
