Just in case you happened to miss last night’s GOP debate in South Carolina, here’s a brief rundown of what transpired:
- All the candidates said President Obama should not dare replace the late Antonin Scalia
- Trump got booed several times by the debate audience
- The candidates took cheap shots at each other and lied endlessly, as per their usual
But for me, the best part of the entire debate happened shortly after the candidates took the stage and a moment of silence was observed in honor of Justice Scalia. Bush, Carson, Cruz, Kasich, and Rubio all bowed their heads and closed their eyes. Rubio even made the sign of the cross, which is common among Catholics.
Trump, however, looked lost and incredibly uncomfortable. He just stood there and stared the entire time. Keep in mind this from a man who says the Bible is his favorite book and that he attends church regularly.
This may be the best thing to yet happen during at Republican debate, and it tells us just what a clueless–and selfish– sack of dung Donald Trump truly is.
Hey, Donald: Next time, just close your eyes and pretend you’re paying homage to your own image. That’s as close as you’ll ever get to any kind of religion as you know it.
