Missing Woman Found Dead In Wal-Mart’s Parking Lot After Three Months

When a search for a missing person is announced, we always fear the worst or sometimes feel the victim is helpless and may need help wherever he/she is. This wasn’t the case for a Californian woman whose body was found in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Her body likely sat in the lot for months without anyone noticing.

Twenty-two year old Laura Moss was declared missing from Seaside, Calif, in mid-November, according to Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Cmdr. John Thornburg. Her body was found in a parked car on the WalMart grounds in Salinas, California, and the likely cause of death was ruled as suicide although toxicology results are still pending.

According to police reports, the car had been parked in the parking lot since December as security camera footage showed the car had been at the same spot since the specified time. To corroborate the footage, store employees reported that the vehicle had been there for some time, had tinted windows and didn’t appear out of the ordinary even as KTLA-TV reported.

Store employees began to wonder about this stationary vehicle and decided to go take a look on Wednesday afternoon, only to discover that there was a body inside. They placed a call to the police around 5pm.

According to Police Cmdr. Vincent Maiorana, the body was badly decomposed and appeared to have been there for some time.

Sad.
