Marco Rubio, after last week’s disastrous GOP debate where he used the same line four times in the space of a few minutes, now has a new nickname: Marco Roboto. How perfect is that?
But now some who are longtime friends of the Florida Senator say they are genuinely concerned about his health because his actions were not typical of a politician as smooth and polished (i.e. fake) as he normally is.
Ana Navarro commented on Rubio’s debate meltdown earlier this morning on CNN. She was asked by host Alisyn Camerota:
“Ana, you’re a friend of Marco Rubio’sHave you had a chance to talk to him about what went wrong during that debate?”
Navarro, a longtime GOP operative, admitted that since she is supporting Jeb Bush, she hasn’t exactly had too many conversations with Rubio in recent weeks, and she then added:
“But I was sitting four rows away from the debate, it was an incredibly intense moment. Chris Christie went at him with everything he had.
“I’ve got to tell you this. By the fourth time he was repeating the exact same words verbatim, I was concerned for his health. Just because Marco is too good.”
Too good? You mean too slick and too preprogrammed? He is indeed that, but apparently a wire got crossed in that carefully-coiffed head of his and he wound up sounding like a Terminator in need of repairs.
Navarro also speculated that the problem for Rubio is that he was “over-caffeinated and over-rehearsed.”
While she was at it, Navarro also hinted (intentionally or unintentionally?) at the rumor circulating on social media that Rubio is actually a synthetic human:
“And somehow his cables got crossed. You know, short-circuited. And it was very weird.”
Oh, it was beyond weird! And it very likely spells the end of Marco Rubio’s presidential ambitions.
