Ted Nugent Isn’t Just A Gun Nut, He’s An Anti-Semite

We already knew that Ted Nugent is one of the worst people in the world. But he may have really outdone himself on Monday. He not only revealed that he’s a full-on gun nut, but that he’s a stone-cold anti-Semite.

On Monday afternoon, Nugent took to Facebook to post this picture attacking several prominent advocates of gun control.

Ted Nugent anti-Semite

This image attacks 12 very prominent gun control advocates, and contends the only reason they want common-sense reform of our gun laws is that “they hate freedom” and are “evil.” Among them are Senators Dianne Feinstein, Chuck Schumer, Barbara Boxer, and Rich Blumenthal; former Senators Carl Levin and Frank Lautenberg, former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg, Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, attorney Alan Dershowitz, and three founders of gun control advocacy groups–John Rosenthal, Dan Gross, and Max Nacheman.

Notice the little Israeli flags next to their faces? Combined with the calls to “raise maximum hell,” it’s obvious what Nugent is doing. This is a blatantly anti-Semitic attack, implying that the effort for gun control is some sort of Jewish conspiracy. Even by Nugent’s admittedly low standards, this is outrageous.

Within hours, the Anti-Defamation League rushed out with a press release calling Nugent’s post “completely unacceptable” and “divorced from reality,” and called for both sides of the gun control debate to condemn it. According to the ADL, this picture has appeared on anti-Semitic hate sites in the past. From what we know about the Nuge, it’s hard to believe that he didn’t know what he was doing.

I’d go further than the ADL did. If Wayne LaPierre has anything left in him, he will denounce this outrageous post from Nugent–and disassociate the NRA from him. Call me naive, but I would like to think that even the NRA would not dare associate with a stone-cold anti-Semite. Maybe we should ask the NRA if it condones this–politely, of course.

You know what to do, folks. Pester the NRA on Facebook and Twitter. And while you’re at it, report Nugent’s post to Facebook as hate speech.
