Laura’s Farewell: Family And Friends Sign Her Coffin As Yearbook

A young lady was celebrated at her funeral as her coffin became her very own year book.

Why? She never got to graduate.

18-year old Laura Hillier has been battling Myeloid Leukemia for years and until her death in late January, never got to graduate or receive her yearbook. The Burlington, Canada native got the love and support she deserved even in death as students and friends decided to turn her coffin into a yearbook in this touching story. Every one of them signed her coffin!

She had waited for years for a stem cell transplant and donors were aplenty by July, 2015. However, there were no available hospital beds and the operation had to be delayed till August before being carried out.

By November, there’d been a relapse and she had to go into intensive care where she stayed for a while before returning home to spend the final weeks of her life with her family.

In celebration of her life, you can make a donation in Laura’s Hillier’s name to Coast to Coast, a charity devoted to fighting Childhood cancer.
