Trying To Avoid Dating A Trump Supporter? Match.com’s Survey Is Here To Help

The Match.com Survey

Match.com surveyed 5,500 singles in 2015 and the results are surprising. More dates are starting online, but not as many as you think. Only 33% of singles met online with 26% meeting through friends. Unsurprisingly, baby boomers and millennials have different dating and sex trends. For example, baby boomers are more than 53% likely to have a threesome and millennials are 236% more likely to be drunk the first time they sleep together. In addition, the language people use changes their likelihood of getting a second date. Using the term “Netflix and chill” is 99% more likely to lead to another date while using “on fleek” makes you 26% less likely to get an additional date.

On Your First Date

The Match.com survey revealed that first dates that last close to 2.5 hours are more likely to lead to an additional date. Dates that include dinner and drinks are also more likely to lead to a second date. Match’s survey suggests that sushi and after dinner cocktails are the best way to ensure a second date. Some topics, such as nostalgia about your ex’s, should be avoided, but religion, politics, and the economy actually increases your chance of a second date.

Politics

The Match.com survey also reveals a lot about the politics of current singles. It turns out that talking about politics on a first date means you are 91% more likely to have a second date. Most of the singles you meet are Democrats at 40% with just 19% identifying as Republican. Libertarians make up 2%, 15% are Independents, and 24% are undecided or unaffiliated.

Trying to avoid Trump supporters? The Match.com survey helps with avoiding Trump supporters too! Avoid singles who talk about their ex boyfriend or ex girlfriend. Trump supporters are 116% more likely to talk about their ex’s than non-supporters. Trump supporters are also 79% more likely to drink beer on the first date and 82% of Trump supporters are unemployed.
