The New York Daily News Reacts To Trump And His Iowa Loss In Epic Troll Fashion

It seems the New York Daily News feels no remorse over Donald Trump’s epic loss to Ted Cruz in Iowa. With a cover being touted on Facebook and Twitter, Trump can be seen in clown makeup with a big red nose and sad face.

The story behind the cover isn’t any nicer either. The first words of the New York Daily News’s story read:

“In the end, bombastic bozo Donald Trump’s predictions of an Iowa victory were all a big, sad joke.”

In fact, NBC News reports that the final tally showed Trump losing by four-percent to Cruz. While Cruz received 28-percent, Trump received 24-percent. Even sadder for Trump is that Marco Rubio was right behind him with 23-percent. It seems Trump’s idea of an epic win is nothing more than a whimper now.

The New York Daily News didn’t stop there. They also reported that:

“After Cruz was declared the winner, a deflated Trump maintained that he was “really honored” with his silver-medal finish and, unfazed, pointed to the same bunk polls that suggested he would win in Iowa as reason to predict a victory in the Feb. 9 New Hampshire primary – the next big voting contest.”

During his speech after the loss, Trump made some other big claims before he left town. At the end of his speech though, he said:

“We will go on to get the Republican nomination, and we will go on to easily beat Hillary or Bernie or whoever the hell they throw up there. Iowa, we love you, we thank you, you’re special, we will be back many, many, times. In fact, I think I might come here and buy a farm, I love it.”

Sure Donald, I’m sure that’s what the rest of Iowa wants, a greedy opportunist buying up their land. While I am happy to see Trump lose anything, we must be careful of what we wish for. Cruz and Rubio are no prizes either. Their Christian-extremist rhetoric is just as dangerous – if not more – than Trump’s greed and ego.

Lastly, while we enjoy a Trump defeat until Feb. 9, we can also revel in the sad images of the other losers. That may sound mean, but hey, it’s politics.
