Last night in Iowa was a weird and revealing night. I imagine Hillary Clinton was shocked at how well Bernie Sanders did, and for sure pathological narcissist Donald Trump was shocked that he didn’t take away the Republican win in a grand sweep.
But perhaps most telling are these photos (pulled together by Mediaite) from the campaign parties of some of the losing campaigns.
Martin O’Malley’s stage was a ghost town.

There was even a very sad photo of a cake that had only a few pieces eaten from it.

Did he really believe he had any chance at all of winning? Come on, Martin. And as for that cake, you KNOW if there had been 60 people there as Nick Corasaniti said, that cake would have been gone!
Carly Fiorina captured 1.9 percent of the votes, coming in at a very distant 7th place. She actually skipped her own party — with its sad projector screen playing Bernie Sanders in the background and crumpled table clothes and trash on the floor — to head out to New Hampshire.

And there was no huge celebration at Trump headquarters, although there actually were quite a few people there. These guys don’t seem to know what to do. They’re just sort of standing around.

I love this comment by a Twitter user:
@nprpolitics Trump officially on Suicide Watch.

Last night’s Trump party was a stark contrast to this rally:
@nprpolitics Nice try…Your #Trump smear campaign is totally failing. We are voting #Trump2016. pic.twitter.com/pVJrxqZugf

Let’s get ready for New Hampshire! Likely the results there will tell the tale, but I think we’re in for a long and heated race from both sides.
