Donald Trump recently received a verbal beating at the hands of various members of the British Parliament who officially bestowed the business tycoon with the label of “idiot.”
This pummelling took place at a debate that was held on Monday to discuss banning Trump from the UK following a rather successful petition that began circulating in Britain at the end of last year.
The petition, which proposed banning Trump on the grounds of “hate speech” was a major hit with the Brits and received almost 600,000 signatures in just over one week.
In the UK any petition that receives over 100,000 signatures must be considered for debate by the Parliament’s Petitions Committee. Taking into consideration the vast amount of signatures received on the controversial petition it seems this was one debate the Petition’s Committee did not want to pass up.
Footage from the debate shows Trump frequently being given the label of “idiot” in addition to various other insults such as “buffoon” and “wazzock” by members of Parliament. One member can even be heard stating:
“On that point of there being 1.6 billion Muslims, thank God there aren’t 1.6 billion Trumps.”
Another claimed he was against banning Trump from the UK because he wished for “the opportunity to challenge him and let him go home with his tail between his legs.”
Although Trump and his recent comments were discussed for a period of over three hours no verdict was reached on the day because no actual vote took place. Instead the British Parliament seemed to use their time at the House of Commons as an opportunity to voice their opinions on Trump whilst under the protection of Parliamentary privilege.
