Co-Founder Of Anti-Obama March Finds Out The Hard Way Why Alcohol And Guns Don’t Mix

A right-wing militant that was the co-founder of an anti-Obama march called Paul Revere 2016 Final March To Restore America, found out the hard way that alcohol and guns do not mix well. It seems that during a drunken dispute on Jan. 11, Charles Carter was shot dead by his fellow march co-founder Vincent Smith.

Raw Story reported that:

“Carter and Smith had been organizing the march, which they hoped would remove President Barack Obama and congressional leaders from office ahead of November’s elections.”

While a KTEN 10 TEXOMA report has Grayson County, TX Deputies saying nothing about the exact nature of the shooting, social media has provided much information. Bill Williamson, a fellow right-winger posted this on Facebook:

Williamson also claims that he had been in contact with Carter on Facebook just before the shooting. He also says that Smith called him after the shooting to say that the U.S. Marshals had ruled it self-defense.

While some obvious jabs can be taken about the circumstances of this shooting, I find it rather sad when any life is taken so senselessly. Especially when you consider that these are the types of groups that go on endlessly about “responsible” gun owners, and claim God has given them the right to do the things they do. This should be a perfect example of why some businesses do not want firearms in their establishments. Alcohol and guns do not mix – period.

Also, maybe some good can come from this tragedy. While it may not change many right-wing extremists’ minds about everything, it seems to have made some impact. It shows in this Facebook post from Williamson just days ago:

After some discussion about this, these posts can be seen on the thread:

Lastly, it’s not only terrorists with guns that are bad, so is alcohol and guns, the mentally ill and guns, convicted violent offenders with guns, wife beaters with guns, and so on. If only there was a way to enforce some gun laws to help prevent some of these senseless shootings. Hmmm…
