Kim Davis Pisses Off GOP, Praises Obama’s SOTU Address — ‘It Was Good’

We were all shocked when Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) invited nutjob anti-gay activist and Kentucky court clerk Kim Davis to be his guest at Tuesday’s State of the Union address, but no one was more shocked than Jordan himself.

From The Hill:

Jordan, who is the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, had denied inviting anyone to the speech earlier on Tuesday before reversing himself, saying he had just been told by his staff.

“Kim Davis used our ticket. Our staff heard from the Family Research Council that Ms. Davis and her family hoped to attend the State of the Union address and so we offered a ticket,” Jordan said in a statement obtained by The Hill.

“I found out today,” Jordan told Huffington Post. “And I’m being totally honest with you: That’s — Family Research Council asked us, her family wanted a ticket, and we said ‘OK.'”

For her part, however, Davis apparently enjoyed the speech, at first saying “it was a speech,” but then later giving a warmer response to the Agence France-Press, saying “it was good.”

Davis arrived at the address looking, as my boyfriend said, “awesomely tacky.” Look:

Of course, the worst thing about Kim Davis isn’t her taste in clothing. It’s her character, as pointed out by a Twitter user.

Why the heck was she even invited, especially since Jordan didn’t know she was coming? This from CNN:

“We are not releasing the names of the Congressmen who provided tickets for Kim and Mat because the focus should not be on the Congressmen or politics but on why Kim and (Liberty Council Chairman) Mat Staver are there. Kim will be in the gallery tonight as a counterweight to the President’s message. She is representing many Americans who have been adversely affected by the President’s policies, specifically this Administration’s trampling of religious liberty,” said Charla Bansley of Liberty Counsel.

Right. Whatever. Kim Davis was a registered Democrat, but we are so glad that Kim Davis converted to the party of hate.
