Apparently if you want to build a mosque in Gillette, Wyoming, some folks take great umbrage, even though what they know about Islam could fit into a thimble with plenty of room left over.

A mosque–the first and only mosque in Gillette–opened in September, but already ignorant Islamophobic dillholes have decided to try and drive them out. Their “leader” is a man named Bret Colvin, the founder of Stop Islam in Gillette. Colvin’s reason for starting the group: he doesn’t want any “jihadis” in his neighborhood.

It’s a mosque, not an ISIS outpost, Mr. Colvin.

But let’s allow Brother Colvin to indict himself for the crime of massive ignoance with his own words:

“Well, I don’t want Jihadis in my neighborhood. We don’t want to take the chance of having a problem. Why let them all in and then see what happens when you can just nip it in the bud? ”

Fellow Stop Islam in Gillette member James Hance said of the Islamic faith:

“It’s basically a terrorist group. Their religion don’t like us.”

Neither do you like the English language and how it is supposed to be spoken, Mr. Hance. Does that make you a domestic terrorist or merely an ignorant sack of fecal matter?

Colvin has also started a Facebook group which has these postings on it:

“Stop the Islam invasion sponsored by [Wyoming governor] Matt Mead and Barrack (sic) Obama. Remove the mosque and Islam school from Gillette.”

“Stop Forced Syrian Immigration to Gillette.”

In recent months, some Muslims who live in Gillette say, the anti-Islamic rhetoric and sentiment has increased greatly in the small town. Aftab Khan, who owns a hotel in town, commented:

“The rhetoric has gotten so bad, so negative, so harsh that it’s just stunning everybody. I mean, it’s just unprecedented. It’s never been that way for us, even after 9/11. I went to the University of Wyoming, and I’ve been in Gillette for the last six – almost 16 years. I mean, you can’t ask for anybody who’s, basically, you know, been more of a Wyoming person than me. My whole life I’ve been here. ”

Khan also said he fears for his safety and that of his family:

“People have attacked my family and threatened us physically. I’m not going to sit here and deny the fact that I’m a little bit nervous and a little bit worried.”

Meanwhile, Colvin’s online hate group on Facebook–which has been renamed to “Stop forced Syrian immigration to Gillette”– now has about 350 members and is growing.
