Missouri Man Hangs Noose With Confederate Flag To Teach ‘Rope Tying Lesson’

Jeffrey Tindle, from Springfield, Missouri, is taking some flak from neighbors over his Confederate flag with a noose hanging from it. He insists that the display is not racist and that his brother was learning how to tie knots at the time. Evidently, Tindle decided to teach his brother the proper way to make one. Thus the noose along with the flag.

In a video obtained from WDAM in Mississippi, Tindle had this to say:

“The Confederate flag, the rebel flag, whatever you choose to call it, it does not stand for racism at all. It stands for pride and heritage.”

As for helping to teach his brother how to tie knots, and answering whether the noose was a racist message, Tindle also had this to say:

“I don’t believe so. We have African-Americans in our family, we don’t hate them. It don’t stand for that at all…Do all you can do to get it down, because without some kind of law, it ain’t coming down.”

What the hell? First he uses the “pride and heritage” excuse, then something about trying to teach his brother how to tie knots, and lastly, the “I know black people defense.” We all know what the flag means, even with the excuses. Until there is a law to the contrary though, he can fly what he wants.

As for his neighbors, Raw Story reports that:

“Justin Clopton told KSRP that his neighbor Jeffrey Tindle had gone too far by combining a symbol of lynching with the Confederate flag. “In my opinion, it’s racist,” Clopton said. “I love the history of this country, but there is a lot of history of this country that is really despicable, and that noose represents bad things in the South. The way I look at it, a noose means lynching.”

Well of course it does, that’s what it’s meant for. Maybe Tindle needs someone to teach him how to blow smoke up people’s a**es.
