‘I Am A Muslim’ — Muhammad Ali Serves Trump A TKO For Islamaphobic Slurs

Muhammed Ali is probably the most famous Muslim in U.S. history. A three-time world heavyweight boxing champion, Ali became a Muslim in 1964. Now, in 2015, Ali is still fighting. While Islamic extremists have become a political talking point by presidential candidates like Donald Trump, Ali is not going to let these shots go unchallenged.

It’s well known that Trump is an advocate of banning all Muslims from entering the U.S. First it was Mexicans, then he attacks women for doing their jobs, now he is on to Muslims. Well, in a recent statement titled, “Presidential Candidates Proposing to Ban Muslim Immigration to the United States,” Ali makes his feelings known.

Rather than give short quotes, here is the champs full statement that was delivered to NBC News:

“I am a Muslim and there is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people in Paris, San Bernardino, or anywhere else in the world. True Muslims know that the ruthless violence of so called Islamic Jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion.

We as Muslims have to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda. They have alienated many from learning about Islam. True Muslims know or should know that it goes against our religion to try and force Islam on anybody.

Speaking as someone who has never been accused of political correctness, I believe that our political leaders should use their position to bring understanding about the religion of Islam and clarify that these misguided murderers have perverted people’s views on what Islam really is.”

Notice that Ali also takes aim at the murderers and extremist that hide behind the false narrative of faith. If only Trump had any sense. Sadly, Trump is not one to back down, even when he sounds like a total lunatic.
