Jon Stewart Returned To The Daily Show Last Night To ‘End The F*ckery’

Last night, I was sitting and watching “The Daily Show,” as I do nearly every evening, when all of a sudden former host Jon Stewart was on the screen, standing behind current host Trevor Noah.

As you might expect, I sat forward in my chair and turned up the volume on the TV.

But Stewart wasn’t back at his old gig to crack wise with Noah and compliment him on the job he’s doing, even though he did say some nice things about the new host. Instead, he was there to shine a very bright light on the GOP’s failure to pass the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, which provides funding for 9/11 first responders who have gotten ill since their heroic actions on that fateful day none of us will ever forget.

The current version of the bill for first reponders ran out of money on October 1. And Stewart is sick and tired of the excuses being given by Republicans about how they cannot find the money for this vital issue. He has now dubbed the foot-dragging GOPers Worst Responders and created a Twitter hashtag with that name, also: #WorstResponders.

Another hashtag has also been brought to the fore by Stewart, and this one I absolutely love: #EndtheFuckery.

Stewart had some very harsh words for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY):

“Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky doesn’t give a shit about anything but politics. The first responders were told the Zadroga Act would be included. They were told this last week. It be included in the transportation bill passed last week. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky pulled it out of the transportation bill when he didn’t get concessions about loosening oil export regulations.”

Of course! McConnell is always going to protect the rich asshole corporations such as the oil companies who give money to his campaign coffers and finance the GOP to the tune of millions of dollars a year.

Meanwhile, hundreds of brave people who protect all of us are having their lives–and their health– put on hold so some politicians can play their stupid little games of power and helping the privileged class.

Time to end the fuckery! Please use the links below to let your voice be heard on the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act:
