Marco Rubio is seen as having an excellent chance of emerging from the GOP pack of candidates for President and potentially earning the Republican nomination, but if he keeps saying the kind of things he did today on Fox News, he’s gonna wind up being a laughingstock, just like Donald Trump and Ben Carson.

While making an appearance on “Fox and Friends,” Rubio, always delighted to slavishly polish the boots of the National Rifle Association (NRA), commented on the shootings in San Bernardino, California which left 14 people dead:

“When this first came out, without knowing anything about the case, the first thing they started talking about was gun control, and gun control. I don’t hear anybody talking about bomb control. They put bombs, they left bombs behind on the scene of attack, intending to kill even more people than they did with the guns.”

Bomb control? Really? Well then let me be the first person to strongly advocate for bomb control. Personally, I don’t think anyone should have a bomb for any reason whatsoever. But it’s not bombs that killed dozens of high school kids at Columbine or all of the precious little children at Sandy Hook. And it wasn’t bombs that killed so many in California, Senator. It was two people with semiautomatic weapons.

While he was at it, the Florida Senator also took time to blame President Obama for the California attacks, saying it was a direct result of the President not “containing ISIS.” And he added:

“Every time one of these incidents occurs, it proves that. So you could see in their original reaction that they were hoping  it was just another one of these incidents, it’s turned into increasingly likely it was a terrorist attack.”

And even if it does indeed prove to be a terrorist attack, it was still one that was carried out with guns. Guns are the problem, not ISIS, not bombs. If you want to see the real problem, Senator Rubio, it takes the form of the NRA, from whom you have consistently received an A+ rating.

Bomb control? We need NRA control.
