Social Media Destroys House Speaker Paul Ryan For His Response To Colorado Shootings

Remember how Paul Ryan promised he was going a be a new kind of Speaker of the House? He pledged to be more willing to compromise and less abrasive than his predecessor, John Boehner.

Then perhaps he can explain what he was thinking when he decided to weigh in on the shootings at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which left three people–including a police officer–dead last week. Here’s what Ryan posted Sunday on his Twitter account:

ryan1Terrorism knocking on our door, Mr. Speaker? It seems to me that the psychopath who committed this act of domestic terrorism was not just knocking on the door. He was already in the freaking house! He was an American and had easy access to a weapon of mass destruction: a semiautomatic AK-47.

But there’s no need for me to take the Speaker to task for his ignorant and insensitive statement. To that, I leave other Twitter users:

So, Mr. Speaker, how’s that new approach to being the leader of the House of Representatives going so far? I ask because you sure sound like every other Republican I hear making excuses for the NRA and the gun industry every single time we have a mass shooting in this country.

The knocking on the door you year, Speaker Ryan, is John Boehner. He wants a moment of your time to congratulate you for being as big of an insensitive douchebag as he ever dared to be.
