Meet The Republican Would-Be First Ladies


These are the unlucky ladies who have to share a bed with the GOP candidates during the 2016 Campaign. One of these spouses could potentially be the First Lady of this country, but what exactly do we know about all of them?

Jeanette Rubio

Both Jeanette and Marco Rubio claim to be living proof that the American Dream exists. Both born to Hispanic immigrant families, they met when she was still in high school and have been together ever since. Mrs. Rubio — a former Miami Dolphins cheerleader — is known to understand the dangers the campaign can have on their children stating “It puts a lot of strain on the family.” She has elected to take a hands-off approach to her husband’s campaign and wishes to focus solely on their children and life at home.

Columba Bush

C0lumba Bush and Jeb met in Mexico when they were 16 and 17 respectively. Jeb was teaching English as a second language when the two got together, and finally married four years later. Columba is known to generally stay out of politics, however she did give a speech in Spanish endorsing her father in law George H.W Bush in 1988 at the Republican National Convention In New Orleans. If Jeb is elected, she would become the first Hispanic First Lady in U.S history.

Melania Trump

The third wife of billionaire Donald Trump, Melania Knauss Trump is Slovenian and had an illustrious modelling career in her youth. She has appeared on the cover of Vogue and Sports Illustrated magazines as well as many others. She is well known to enjoy luxurious items, and wore a $200,000 Dior dress to her wedding with Donald Trump. They have one child together, born in 2006, named Baron William Trump.

Candy Carson

Candy Carson, like her husband Ben, was born and raised in Detroit. However, the two did not meet there, instead meeting at college. The two have gone on to co-author several books together, including a New York Times best-seller which stayed at number one for five weeks in a row. Candy is very supportive of her husband, and has been thoroughly involved in the campaign since it started.

Karen Kasich

Karen Kasich met her husband, John Kasich, while working for a public relations company in Ohio. That led to several years of dating before they finally married in 1997. John Kasich soon became governor of Ohio, which led to Karen giving up her vice-president role at GSW worldwide to focus on raising their twin daughters, Emma and Reese. Karen is known to be keen on fitness due to chronic heart problems in her family.

Janet Huckabee

Janet Huckabee is a known nutjob/fanatic/lunatic, you name it. She once said of her detractors “If it wasn’t for God’s grace, I’d have shot a few people already.” Known as “the first tomboy” when Mike Huckabee was governor of Arkansas, she is a proud hunter of animals. She once fired a grenade launcher at a National Guard training camp, hitting the target two out of three times. Janet was diagnosed with spinal cancer at age 20, but has made a full recovery and has had three children, and run two marathons since.

Heidi Nelson Cruz

Having lived in Nigeria and Kenya as a child and having studied in Belgium and France, Heidi Cruz could certainly be determined as the most international candidate for First Lady. Mrs. Cruz takes a very hands-on approach to her husband’s campaign unlike a lot of the other spouses of the candidates. She has been his largest fundraiser to date, making 600 calls to donors in a three month period. Mrs. Cruz is a managing director at investment bank Goldman Sachs and has taken unpaid leave to help her husband with his campaign. Around ten years ago, it was reported that Mrs. Cruz endured a bout of depression after struggling to cope with her move from Washington D.C. to Houston, Texas.

Kelley Paul is responsible for one of the most bizarre names in GOP history. When they met, Paul was Randy Paul. Shortly after getting married, she made him change it to Rand. Kelley Paul is a freelance writer and has written many books including True And Constant Friends. She has been in commercials and has spoken at speeches during her husband’s campaign for office.

Mary Pat Christie

Girl Power! Mary Pat Christie was an investment Banker at Angelo, Gordon and Co. before quitting recently to help run her husband’s campaign. Whilst working, she was earning almost triple her husband’s salary as the governor of  New Jersey. Mrs. Christie also set up the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief fund which has gone on to donate over $37 million in grants and aid.

Tonette Walker

Tonette Walker has had a lot of tragedy in her life. Her first husband, who she married at age 23, died seven years later. In that same year, her only sibling and grandmother died too. She married Scott Walker when she was 36 and he was 24. They both agreed to marry on the day of Ronald Reagan’s birthday. She has worked in the medical insurance industry for over 20 years, and still does even during her husband’s campaign. They regularly hold Ronald Reagan themed parties and events to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. WTF.
