This week, multitalented performer/producer/director Barbara Streisand was at the White House to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama. The Medal of Freedom is the highest honor an American civilian can receive.
After the ceremony, ABC News asked Streisand a few questions about how she felt to receive such an honor, and the reporter, Jonathan Karl, also asked how she would have felt had the President been Trump instead of Obama. Streisand replied:
“What if that was Donald Trump up there, I couldn’t help but think, ‘what would he say?’ It’s terrifyingly scary, but it’s funny, but scary.”
Can you imagine Trump giving an award to anyone, let alone someone as unabashedly liberal as Barbra Streisand? He’d probably ask to see her papers and want to compare net worths.
Streisand also made it clear who she supports for President in 2016:
“We need a woman president, we need compassion…we need to have a person who comes from the heart, and experience.”
So how about Trump vs. Clinton? What does Streisand project if that happens?
“One of the greatest moments in television history. Everybody would watch. I can’t even imagine.”
I couldn’t agree more. It would be this generation’s Kennedy-Nixon debate, and Hillary would mop up the floor and leave Trump’s egotistical ass in a heap on the stage.
To steal a phrase from the Hamsterheaded one himself: It would be HUUUUUUGE!
