Like most people around the world, Americans have no concept of how strange our food tastes to other cultures. In this video, they take four Irish young adults and have them taste test traditional American Thanksgiving foods for the first time. It was disappointing they didn’t serve them Apple or Sweet Potato pie for desert. Some of the items on the menu were things I’d never eaten. So I think that may have sampled foods from different U.S. regions.
One thing’s for sure, many people from around the world do not like our food. For example, visitors would often say that our bread tastes really weird. And most people from outside of the U.S. agree that our foods are too sweet and seasoned in general. This is why many fast food chains change their recipes when they open a restaurant overseas.
