Anyone that has listened to Ben Carson recently has to ask: “Is this guy really running for President?” It seems like one nonsensical thing after another keeps spewing from his mouth. It gets rather confusing keeping up with them all. The latest would have to be his assertion that he witnessed Muslims celebrating as the Twin Towers came down on 9/11 – in New Jersey.
Not surprisingly, this claim was first made by Donald Trump – another confusing fellow — last week. Now it seems Carson is backing down from his latest delusion, and Twitter is letting him have it. As ABC’s Katherine Faulders tweeted yesterday, Nov.23:
Following that tweet, Twitter responded in hysterical fashion. Here are just a few:
A full array of hysterics can be seen on Katherine Faulders Twitter page.
Now Carson appeared on “The Kelly File” the same night and quickly backtracked on his assertion. I say “quickly” because only two-minutes and thirty seconds were dedicated to the retraction at the beginning of the segment.
Before the interview though, Megyn Kelly showed a clip of Carson answering “yes” when asked if he had seen Muslims celebrating the attack in New Jersey. During the interview, Kelly asked Carson:
“It’s important whether these were American Muslims in New Jersey versus, you know, folks over in Iran or the Middle East, that’s a much different story. So do you admit to a lack of caution in answering that question?”
Carson responds by saying:
“Yeah, yeah, I mean I thought we were just talking about the fact that Muslims were inappropriately celebrating. I didn’t know that they had an agenda behind the question.”
How could Carson not know that they were talking about New Jersey! The reporter specifically asked: “New Jersey?”. Carson then clearly replied: “Yes.” Confusing right?
Would somebody please get this man a tutor? Also, if Carson does not have a staff that is at least helping him learn about the world – flash cards maybe? – they need to be fired.
