10 Reasons Bernie Sanders May Win The Democratic Nomination

Bernie Sanders Could Be The Next President Of The United States.

Bernie Sanders is the longest serving Independent congressman in the history of the United States. He’s progressive, independent, and could be the next President of the United States. Most corporate media pundits and rank-and-file Democrats consider him a long shot.

There are ten reasons they may be wrong.

1. Bernie Sanders Fought For Civil Rights In The 60’s.

While attending college at the University of Chicago he was arrested for protesting the segregation of schools in that city. He has been a long-time advocate for civil rights and has the record to back it up. He was a student organizer for the Congress Of Racial Equality while in college.

Bernie Sanders’ biggest challenge today will be to convince non-white voters of his current policies instead of referring to his actions in the past. During this time of social unrest and social media influence, the Sanders campaign has done an outstanding job of listening to the collective voices of minority groups like Black Lives Matter.

2. Bernie Sanders Could Be The First Non-Christian President.

Most Americans know that the problems we face as a nation did not come down from heaven. These problems are the result of bad human decisions. The Sanders campaign has been advocating that right human decisions in the future can change things around.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Sanders was raised by Jewish parents. His father was a Polish immigrant who came to America after his parents died in the Holocaust. His mother was Jewish and grew up in New York City. As we saw in 2008 with the election of Barack Obama, the first person of color to win the White House, required an enormous shift in the American electorate. It’s not far fetched to a progressive thinking person that a Democratic Socialist, non-Christian person could win the Democratic nomination.

3. Bernie Sanders Has A Verifiable Progressive Voting Record.

With the Democratic Party base becoming more and more progressive, Bernie Sanders has a consistently liberal voting record to fall back on. Nationally Bernie Sanders may not have the name recognition that Hillary Clinton has but he is well known in the halls of Congress for being a defender of keeping jobs in America, climate change awareness, and fighting for the middle-class. Sanders has been outspoken for his concerns about inequality in America and how it will affect the next generation.

4. Bernie Sanders Supports Universal Health Care For All Americans.

Since the days of Harry Truman, a majority of Americans have supported single payer health insurance and full Medicare for all. Over 18,000 Americans die every year from lack of access to a doctor when they need them. This issue is an important focal point of the Bernie Sanders campaign. Moreover, more and more Americans are embracing the idea of universal health care as being a positive than ever before. Rather than spreading fear about the threats of other countries Sanders supports the health care models of other countries like Scandinavia. It is the firm position of Bernie Sanders that health care is an essential fundamental right of all Americans. The fact is that America remains the only major country on earth that does not guarantee healthcare as a right of citizenship. The Sanders campaign has advocated that we need to spend more dollars on disease prevention this stance has resonated with the American public.

5. Bernie Sanders Is A Democratic Socialist.

Berine Sanders describes himself as a Democratic Socialist. Corporate media pundits and Hillary Clinton supporters proclaim this being a dangerous thing for the Democratic Party. However, the growing number of Sanders supporters say, “So What Big Deal!” When people take the time to understand what a Democratic Socialist is and how they work for the middle-class working families and poor they quickly change their views. The average American citizen is beginning to recognize that Bernie Sanders is working to better their lives.

6. Bernie Sanders Is Honest, And He Speaks His Mind.

No matter their political party preference, people love a straight shooter and someone who speaks their mind. In a time when most Americans feel that politicians are dishonest, corrupt, and on the take, Bernie Sanders is a breath of fresh air. As an Independent politician, Sanders has a long history of speaking the truth on many issues no matter who it might offend – Democrat or Republican. Even though the corporate media and rank-and-file Democrats say that Sanders has no chance of winning the nomination, his genuine, no-nonsense demeanor is one of the biggest reasons so many voters are supporting his campaign.

7. Bernie Sanders Supports The Science That Climate Change Is Real.

The debate about whether climate change is real or not is over, other than in the Republican Party. It’s real simple – you either believe modern scientists, or you don’t. While many politicians stand by partisan viewpoints, Bernie Sanders’ independent and free thinking mind appeals to young voters where the issue of climate change is a big deal. Along with Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Sanders set in motion the Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act in 2007. Also, he has supported President Obama in opposing the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline project.

8. Bernie Sanders Can Not Be Bought And Has Refused Super PACs.

The Supreme Court said that these Super PACs would not be corrupting because they are independent, and everything would be fully disclosed. However, the reality is these requirements have been tossed aside. These Super PACs have allowed politicians to amass large sums of cash while the Super PACs spend an enormous amount of money on television ads on the candidate of their choosing. For anyone to think these Super PACs are spending this money and not wanting something in return is the epitome of naivety. Bernie Sanders has long been anti-Super PACs. Instead, the Sanders Campaign, by supporting the middle class, has received donations from everyday Americans that average about $43 per donation. With support surging, the Sanders Campaign is bringing in enough money to be competitive. Unlike other candidates such as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, average Americans can relate to the ideology of Sanders.

9. Bernie Sanders Supports Free Public College And University Tuition.

Sanders’ stance on this issue makes him popular with one of the largest untapped voting blocks in America – the Millennial Voter. Over the years he has advocated that America is wasting the intellectual capital of so many young, bright Americans. Information is power. However, many American families can not afford to send these bright young people to college. Moreover, those who are fortunate enough to go to college often find themselves drowning in student loan debt once they graduate. Sanders wants to put a Robin Hood Tax on Wall Street speculation that would help pay for this noble endeavor. This effort has caught the attention of young voters and their support for Sanders has been apparent.

10. Bernie Sanders Is Fighting For The Poor And Middle-Class Instead Of The One Percent.

No matter if you believe in climate change, universal health care, or free college education for all or not, the fact remains that one-tenth of the top one percent in America has more wealth than all the rest of Americans combined. While Wall Street is booming the middle class is disappearing. This reality has many Americans angry, disgusted, and frustrated. Sanders has long been a defender of the common American citizen and he wants to redistribute America’s wealth by rebuilding the country’s infrastructure and creating jobs that will change the lives of millions. A Bernie Sanders presidency would attack the growth of inequality in America.

In closing, Bernie Sanders has been an outstanding senator for the state of Vermont. He is very popular with both Democratic and Republican voters in that state. He is not part of some political dynasty like Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Lastly has an A+ rating with America’s war veterans.

The corporate media says Bernie Sanders is a long shot to win the Democratic nomination for president, but the will of the average everyday American may have something to say about that assertion.
