The Republicans have lost the last two presidential elections, despite their best efforts to paint President Obama as an evil terrorist, one of those frightening Muslims, a dictator born in one of those scary African countries, and…wait for it…a hater of the United States Constitution!

How do they plan to correct that now that a majority of voters didn’t buy into it? Why, change the voters through gerrymandering, of course! If that doesn’t work, rewrite the Constitution!

Senior judicial analyst at Fox News, Judge Andrew Napolitano, told Steve Doocey today on “Fox & Friends” that voting is a “privilege,” and that the Supreme Court was wrong when it ruled that voting is a “fundamental right.”

DOOCY: “Sure. And one of the things they’d look to is the Supreme Court in the past has said that the right to drive in the United States is fundamental. However, they don’t say you have to be an American citizen, per se. But what about the right to vote?”

NAPOLITANO: “You know, there’s a lot of debate without getting too academic about what the right to vote is. Is it a fundamental right that comes from our humanity like thought and speech and association and worship and self-defense? Or is it a privilege given by the government? In my view, the Supreme Court has wrongly said it’s a fundamental right.”

How much does Fox News pay these shills to sell their souls and check their brains at the door?

The statement came during a discussion on California’s new Voter Motor Act, which automatically registers its citizens to vote when they obtain a driver’s license. Napolitano and Doocy insist that this will allow

“Millions of illegal people to the rolls because the state allows undocumented aliens to get driver’s licenses.”

Wait, I thought the voter ID laws that the GOP have been fighting so adamantly for in states like Texas and Georgia were supposed to fix all of that? Why require an ID to vote at all if undocumented persons can use them and then vote?

Why indeed? Could it be that those who do not have IDs are not the “undocumented aliens” the GOP is so afraid will be allowed to vote? Instead, could it be people in poverty, and people of color (who are disproportionately those in poverty) and that these are not typically registered GOP voters?

Napolitano’s website includes an entire blog post fearing the current administration’s violations of the Constitution. In it, he wonders what would happen if there were no Constitution:

“What if those who love power defeat those who love liberty in a government election? What if there is no one left to enforce the Constitution against those in power?

What if all this is happening right under our noses? What do we do about it?”

What if, indeed, Napolitano?
