Being the kind of person who prefers dogs to cats, I have to admit I have wondered from time to time about one question in particular: Do cats have the same kind of emotional depth that dogs have?

Allow me a moment to explain: My pit bull mix, Ginger, can look at me with those warm brown eyes of hers and I just somehow sense that she is trying to tell me, Hey, I love you. I will always protect and love you.

But cats, they just seem aloof to me, not capable of that same kind of feeling that I have seen so often in dogs.

I doubt cats no more.

After seeing the video below of a cat who has been rescued and is being cared for by a veterinarian as a person’s voice can be heard in the background soothing the cat with words, I know without question that cats do indeed have the same depths as dogs.

Take a look at this video and watch as this thankful cat, realizing she is safe and secure, cries what can only be tears of joy. It is powerful, touching, and wonderful.
