Shocking Warnings From Pope Francis Depicting Devil’s Ambushes

Watch Out For Devil Pope Francis Says
The Devil Exists According To Pope Francis via Flickr by Petrus Agricola

Does the devil exist? I grew up near one of the 13 Gates Of Hell, at least that was the rumor, and I always avoided the highway that ran past it. Why take unnecessary chances? The recently dubbed “moral leader of the world,” Pope Francis, believes el Diablo exists. So, who am I to argue? Well okay, I may not want to argue, but I definitely want to check out what the Pope has to say about the dark one.

On Pope Francis’ recent visit to the U.S., I was happy to hear him speak about the greed that has corrupted our country, the great Democrat-Republican divide, and the worrying changes in everyday life. He said the dark one is a reality:

“The devil also exists in the 21st century, and we need to learn from the Gospel how to battle against him.” He went on to say that Christians should not be ‘naive’ about the evil one’s ways and that the devil is anything but a “relic of the past.”

It occurs to me that hatred runs rampant among so many ultra-conservatives standing outside of Planned Parenthood centers. Republicans in Congress get so frenzied about abortions, they literally force a woman to undergo an invasive sonogram. Yet that sonogram is the equivalent of rape, perhaps the second one she experienced. Can this co-exist with good? I doubt it.

“The devil plants evil where there is good, trying to divide people, families and nations. But God… looks into the ‘field’ of each person with patience and mercy: he sees the dirt and the evil much better than we do, but he also sees the seeds of good and patiently awaits their germination.”

Republican right-wingers see immigrants, whether from the South or from the Mideast, as less than human. How can they be so hateful when as children in Bible School they sang, “Jesus Loves The Little Children”? It continues:

“…all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight. Jesus love the little children of the world.”

“Maybe some of you might say: ‘But Father, how old-fashioned you are to speak about the devil in the 21st century!’ But look out because the devil is present! The devil is here… even in the 21st century! And we mustn’t be naive, right? We must learn from the Gospel how to fight against Satan.”

So how do we learn how to fight evil? That one is easy. The Bible’s 10 Commandments pretty much cover it all. However, the simplest guidance is often the hardest to remember. Pope Francis summed up goodness this way:

“Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You.”

“It is enough to open a newspaper and we see that around us there is the presence of evil, the Devil is at work. But I would like to say in a loud voice ‘God is stronger.’ Do you believe this, that God is stronger?”

The devil is in the details! Is this publication honorable and honest, or is it owned by a magnate more interested in right-wing propaganda? I watched in sorrow this week as I saw the National Geographic fall into the hands of the very man who owns FOX.

“[The Devil] attacks the family so much. That demon does not love it and seeks to destroy it. […] May the Lord bless the family. May He make it strong in this crisis, in which the devil wishes to destroy it.”

When we see the backbiting and snarling that goes on in uber-conservative talk radio, is it so surprising that such ugly behavior bleeds over into the home? When the anti-abortion crowd succeeds in closing down Planned Parenthood clinics and access to birth control, these hate-mongers force women to bear more children than they can afford, physically or financially? Under these circumstances, how can a family be the “Hope Factory” that Pope Francis describes?

“Behind every rumor there is jealousy and envy. And gossip divides the community, destroys the community. Rumors are the weapons of the devil.”

The whole Republican presidential campaign is built on lies and rumors, attacks and air. Sounds like the devil at work to me. Just look at what the Republican party is doing to Hillary Clinton on her emails and Benghazi!

“The devil cannot stand seeing the sanctity of a church or the sanctity of a person, without trying to do something.”

Why is it that ultra-conservative Republicans cannot bear to accept LGBT people as part of God’s creation? Instead we see hatred turn their faces into grimaces, their voices piercing the calm. Do they really believe that God wants that? Unfortunately, I think they do.

“And behind all this pain, death and destruction there is the stench of what Basil of Caesarea, one of the church’s first theologians, called ‘the dung of the devil.’ An unfettered pursuit of money rules. That is the dung of the devil.”

We have seen how money has corrupted Congress. Candidate Donald Trump brags about how many “elected” officials he has bought, purchased from his vaults of gold. There is no representative of the people, only representation of those who worship the god, money.

“The presence of the devil is on the first page of the Bible, and the Bible ends as well with the presence of the devil, with the victory of God over the devil.”

Does the devil exist? Should you take Pope Francis’ advice about the devil? I guess that is one you’ll just have to decide for yourself.
