The Internet is going crazy over the newest cute animal YouTube video. “Rocksy” the raccoon is a female raccoon that has a habit of stealing cat food during the day.
The owner of this home video records Rocksy as she uses a rock to beg for more food. Rocksy holds the rock in both hands while rubbing it against the glass. She’s learned that if she annoys the owner enough she will get more food. It’s really incredible and very funny.
The owner is kind enough to also educate the viewers a bit about raccoon behavior. Contrary to what many people believe, raccoon do often come out during the day to gather food. Usually it’s female raccoon, like Rocksy, who need to nurse their babies.
Please be warned, it’s not safe to try and approach any wild animal and pet it. No matter how cute they may look. To them, you are a big, hulking, dangerous threat, and they usually will attack you in self defense.
