A horrendous video that depicts a young African-American boy being arrested and assaulted by police, for simply jay-walking, has gone viral.

During the video you can see the boy being hit with a baton by the officer. All the while a woman is shouting at the officer, informing him what he already knows. That the person he is hitting and violently arresting is just a kid.

In the end it takes nine officers to arrest the boy. They do so by slamming him on the ground, in what is clearly a power play. All over jay-walking.

Vice News spoke with the Stockton police, they informed Vice News that 16-year old did not respond to an officer’s request to get out of the bus lane.

So police have taken power trip to a whole new level. For simply jay-walking this young boy was assaulted and tackled, by NINE officers. As the boy is being marched off in hand cuffs you can see tears rolling down his eyes. Any decent human can understand that this boy did not deserve the harsh and inhumane level of punishment he received from these officers. But we all know why the officer assaulted the boy. The boy didn’t show him the respect he “deserved.” And after what happened to Sandra Bland, a very real fear has seeped into the American public. “Are police simply just allowed to do whatever they want?”

What has policing come to? In all honesty policing appears more and more tyrannical every day. Everyone has to fear being assaulted for simply saying how they feel in the situation. Granted, people can sometimes be belligerent, but aren’t officers supposed to be trained for situations like the one below.
