Who Does Jeb Bush Want On The $10 Bill? Margaret Thatcher

In perhaps one of the biggest WTF moments of Thursday’s GOP presidential debate (there were so many to choose from), Jeb Bush said that he’d like to see the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on the revamped $10 bill.

You know, American money. Paper  money here in the U.S.

I know. It’s a lot to process.

The question asked by moderators to all of the candidates was “Who would you like to see on a new $10 bill?”

In June, the Obama administration announced that a new $10 bill will be introduced in 2020 and for the first time in U.S. history, paper money will feature a woman. The woman to be featured is still up in the air. The Department of Treasury is seeking suggestions from the American public.

One stipulation is that the woman be dead already, which would rule out suggestions by candidates Mike Huckabee and Donald Trump. Here is who they want:

  • Mike Huckabee: “My wife.” Because this: “”who else could possibly be on that money?”
  • Donald Trump: Rosa Parks or his daughter Ivanka. (we all know how he feels about Ivanka…)

Because Ivanka and Mrs. Huckabee are so historically significant. Here are the answers from the other clowns:

  • Rand Paul: Susan B. Anthony (she’s already on some money, Rand…)
  • Marco Rubio: Rosa Parks
  • Ted Cruz: Rosa Parks (but on the $20 — Cruz wants to keep Hamilton on the $10)
  • Ben Carson: His mother
  • Jeb Bush: Margaret Thatcher
  • Scott Walker: Clara Barton, founder of the Red Cross
  • Carly Fiorina: Wouldn’t change the $10 bill — she said, inexplicably, that the bills should be left as they are so that every woman can have the opportunity “to live the life she chooses.”
  • John Kasich: Mother Theresa because he met her when she was alive (she’s also not American….)
  • Chris Christie: Abigail Adams, wife of Pres. John Adams

I really like Abigail Adams, too, in addition to Rosa Parks.

To be clear, Carly Fiorina said this:

“Honestly, it’s a gesture,” she said. “It doesn’t help to change our history. We’ve got to recognize that women aren’t a special interest group … This nation will be better off when every woman can live the life she chooses.”

WTF with these clowns, though? A few sensible answers and the rest just insane. But alas, it’s become the new normal.
