The Hollywood Reporter recently decided to ask several celebrities about politics and what they’d like to see, and who, if any celebrity, they’d like to run for public office.

David Guggenheim said he believes the only reason Donald Trump is doing so well is because of the:

“Republican clown car.”

Sandra Bullock was much more optimistic when asked what she was looking for in a candidate. She replied:

“How about someone who really cares about our country and wants to make it great for everyone and equal for everyone? That’s a crazy concept! I think we should put that out there as an idea.”

Hearing Bullock say that makes me want to nominate her!

Some of the other names that came up when the stars were asked who they wanted to see run for President included Senators Al Franken and Elizabeth Warren, while other names mentioned were Michael Moore, Oliver Stone, and Oprah Winfrey.

But it was Emily Blunt, the British actress who recently became an American citizen, who knocked the ball out of the part when she remarked on her thoughts after watching the first Republican debate:

“I became an American citizen recently, and that night, we watched the Republican debate and I thought, ‘This was a terrible mistake. What have I done?”

Blunt was just joking, but, true to her last name, she spoke for many of us who were unsure quite what to make of that surreal Republican debate. The GOP field is indeed a clown car, and it seems to get stranger with each passing day. Who knows what this Wednesday’s second debate will give us to ponder.
