Let’s take a walk down memory lane. A dirty little “Throwback Thursday” if you will.
In a 2011 speech in Las Vegas, GOP front-runner Donald Trump shared his opinion on how the U.S. does foreign relations, giving us a solid glimpse of what we can expect from a President Trump — particularly in regards to how it relates to the nation of China and Chinese people. In speaking about our military presence abroad, Trump said this:
“We build a school, we build a road, they blow up the school, we build another school, we build another road they blow them up, we build again, in the meantime we can’t get a fucking school in Brooklyn.”
And he said this on the issue of OPEC and oil prices:
“We have nobody in Washington that sits back and said, you’re not going to raise that fucking price.”
In regards to China and Chinese people, Trump said that he wants to “drop a 25 percent tax on China.” He explained that it’s all about the messaging, or how you say it. He mocked a diplomatic approach and said that this will be his approach:
“Listen you motherfuckers, we’re going to tax you 25 percent!”
He explained:
“You said the same exact thing, but it’s a different messenger.”
I guess Chinese people need to be talked to differently, according to The Donald? I wonder how long it would be before we lost all of our allies? Before he pissed off half the world?
