A Florida teacher’s story will leave you in a fit of rage.

Orange County teacher, Audrey Dudek, is making the claim that the school she worked for fired here, despite a shortage of math teachers, after the school administrators learned that her boyfriend (now husband) was black.

The Tzuanos Law firm currently represents Dudek in her legal case that has to do with her termination in 2013. The lawsuit states that the school principal and vice principal treated Dudek differently “because she closely associated with non-whites.” The lawsuit goes on to allege that school officials were “shocked and offended” when they learned of her now husband, Stacey, being black and that her classroom was called “Club Audrey.” They felt that she played “black music” and associated with non-white faculty members.

Prepare yourself. The next bit of information will make you so angry that you might just break your computer screen. I have warned you!

The lawsuit claims that Dudek was subject to a racially charged skit where in white faculty members wore black face, afro wigs, gold teeth, and baggy clothing. You can’t say that I didn’t warn you! Though this may be the worst part, the story doesn’t end there.

In addition, the lawsuit claims that Dudek’s performance reviews were manipulated so she would receive a 2.9 instead of a 3, which is required for reappointment to be guaranteed.

Wow this school is just making me absolutely furious. I feel like I am reading something straight out of a history book. Honestly, I wish I were.

The school district did jump to their defense. They maintain that Dudek was not discriminated against.

Here is their official statement written by spokeswoman Shari Bobinski in an email:

“The district denies all allegations of discrimination by Ms. Dudek,” wrote spokeswoman. The district will not                                     comment any further due to pending litigation.

Bobinski’s email did not address the reason as to why Dudek wasn’t reappointed. However she did say that non-tenured teachers are not guaranteed another annual contract even if they are deemed effective in their annual evaluations.

If these allegations are true, we can only hope that this school will be forced to give reparations to this poor woman.
