Hillary Clinton Is Losing Votes To Bernie Sanders. Here’s Why.

Can Hillary Clinton become trustworthy?

While it is true Hillary Clinton is still ahead in the Democratic presidential nomination race in Iowa, Bernie Sanders increasingly threatens her lead. Bernie Sanders, riding a flow of passion in Iowa, has closed to within 7 points of Hillary Clinton. Dropping from over 50 percent to 37 percent, Clinton is losing support fast. She has lost a third of her supporters since May.

Headlines, such as, ‘Here’s Why The Bernie Sanders Iowa Surge Should Terrify The Koch Brothers,’ draw strong support for Bernie Sanders. He is more liberal than Ms. Clinton and taps the frustrations of young people and progressives much more directly. Bernie Sanders message is resonating and attracting new voters to the caucus. He is bringing fire and energy to the campaign Hillary Clinton has not been able to match.

In a statement, Sanders Campaign Manager Michael Briggs pointed out why the billionaires should be worried:

“At a time when the middle class continues to disappear and almost all new wealth and income is going to the top 1 percent, the American people want leadership that is prepared to fight for working families and take on the greed of a billionaire class that has enormous control over our economy, our political life and the media.”

Donald Trump attracts significant media attention, but his speeches are rambling, and based on ego. They are full of feelings, but contain no policy. A standard Trump statement is illegal immigrants must go, but then he never explains how he will accomplish this goal.

In contrast, the speeches of Bernie Sanders are loaded with policy ideas. Bernie Sanders goes beyond discussing problems. He offers solutions, and the polls show Sanders’ solutions are gaining in popularity with Democratic voters. As a general rule, his solutions focus on making America a more honest and fair culture. Income inequality is a one of the problems he has well-thought out solutions for. There are European countries already using these solutions, and providing sound functional models.

While many liberals are willing to ignore Ms. Clinton’s email controversy, 61 percent according to polls, the more recent claim she has commitments from 440 Super-delegates is troubling. Historically, super-delegates have never gone against a clear decision by voters, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen. Her focus on gaining the favor of super-delegates is very concerning. It leaves voters in the Democratic primaries impotent and without a voice. Hillary Clinton’s efforts to bypass the voters, and win the primaries by way of super-delegates, shows she is an establishment candidate. Ms. Clinton’s trust factor is rapidly becoming an issue.
