On the evening of Aug 21, 2015, three vacationing Americans, a British executive and a French passenger overpowered a terrorist on a high-speed train. No one was killed and two people who were slashed by the terrorist’s knife should heal quickly with no complications. On Monday, four of the train heroes were awarded France’s highest civilian medal, the Legion d’Honneur.

Anna Kooiman’s reaction to the heroics of these people was to ask why Barack Obama let this attempted attack happen? Anna Kooiman is an anchorwoman for Fox News. She asked:

“Now we are learning the terrorist they tackled was being watched by several countries and even fought for ISIS. Is this what happens when the Obama administration takes its eye off the war on terror?”

The absurdity of Fox News is comparable to big time wrestling. Fox News has devolved into a form of entertainment which requires a suspension of disbelief. As with big time wrestling, some viewers can believe what they are watching, while the majority cannot. The viewers of Fox News aren’t interested in reality, they are interested in creating a kind of emotional feeding frenzy that gets the viewers’ emotions flowing. The primary and most addictive emotion Fox News promotes is anger. The viewers tune in to get their daily dose of emotional, not intellectual, stimulation.

On Friday evening, U.S. Airman Spencer Stone, 23, said he was waking up when his friend, Alek Skarlatos, a National Guardsman, “just hit me on the shoulder and said ‘Let’s go.'”

A fast moving conductor and an armed terrorist with a rifle had just passed them. Stone and Skarlatos, 22, tackled the gunman and took his assault rifle. Anthony Sadler, 23, a longtime civilian friend, followed closely and helped in subduing the assailant. After the rifle was taken, the terrorist pulled out a pistol, and then a razor blade.

“All three of us started punching him.”

France’s President announced:

“Since Friday, the entire world admires your courage, your sangfroid, your spirit of solidarity. This is what allowed you to, with bare hands, your bare hands, to subdue an armed man. This must be an example for all, and a source of inspiration.”

Stone was also credited with saving the life of a French-American teacher who was wounded in the neck by a bullet, and squirting blood. Stone calmly described his actions:

“I just stuck two of my fingers in his hole and found what I thought to be the artery, pushed down and the bleeding stopped.”

He said he kept the position until paramedics arrived.Several European intelligence agencies were watching the terrorist, El-Khazzani. Why, and how, would U.S agencies be watching a “potential” terrorist in Europe? Former FBI Assistant Director Ron Hasko expressed his Fox News oriented opinion by suggesting the Obama administration should have been “spearheading” the coordination of all counter-terror efforts. While Hasko’s opinion helped with the suspension of disbelief, one has to wonder how thoroughly hypnotized and unthinking Fox News viewers are!
