I have a special place in my heart for Mortal Kombat. Ed Boon and John Tobias’ fighting genre masterpiece is literally that — a game so impressive and influential that it pissed parents off to the point where a video game rating system was created.
I don’t care who you are. Street Fighter pales in comparison.
One of the beautiful things about Mortal Kombat was its emphasis on realistic violence (or at least as realistic as possible). With this in mind, three friends having a cookout argue about how realistic Mortal Kombat fatalities are in a new viral internet video.
In a single day, over 2 million people witnessed all hell breaking loose following a verbal exchange.
It’s quite beautiful really. As the viral internet video continues, two of the guys (We’ll refer to them as “Hat Guy” and “Rookie”) get in each other’s faces, ready to fight over Mortal Kombat’s awesomeness. The third guy (“Hoodie”) eggs them on and the violence begins. As Hat Guy and Rookie do battle, Hoodie (in what is probably the best aspect of this viral internet video) excitedly repeats “awwww daaaammmnn!” while his mates perform all sorts of crazy exaggerated martial arts.
“X-ray” special moves commence and Hat Guy’s face is turned into a Whopper.

Hat Guy is toast. Rookie proceeds to rip his head off. Boon and Tobias would be so proud.
As this viral internet video continues, Rookie turns on Hoodie following a game of catch with Hat Guy’s head. Rookie puts Hoodie’s head in a buzzsaw, then rips it apart, brain matter gushing all over the place.
Impressive. I wonder what the button combination for that was.
Rookie (whose name is now revealed to be Michael) continues his rampage, turning on a teenage boy and ripping out his heart. However, since Mortal Kombat is a game where anything can happen, Michael’s reign is cut to an abrupt end. An arm penetrates his back, with a middle finger firmly up in violent anger. An older woman has changed the dynamic of this viral internet video, taunting Michael as his life fades.
“That was for my son, you bastard.”
She rips out his intestines and beats him with them. G-MILF WINS! FATALITY!
Oh no! A ninja grabs G-Milf’s hair in another shocking viral internet video twist! An interestingly-not-so-much-dying-anymore Michael watches in horror as the ninja (now identified as “Scorpion”) mutilates G-Milf’s face.
