Chittister’s Abortion Quotes
Republicans are going to be blown away by this Catholic nun’s expert view on pro-life, because it shoots a cruise missile right through their double-backed attitudes. Sister Joan Chittister, O.S.B. attacks their merciless movement,
“I do not believe that just because you’re opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. in fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. and why would I think that you don’t?
“Because you don’t want any tax money to go there. That’s not pro-life. That’s pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is.”
Misogynist Republicans
How can the Republicans possibly be pro-life when they are hell-bent on beating a path away from a child as soon as it is born? Actually, they skip out faster than a jerk abandoning his pregnant girlfriend. Right-wingers are hot to pass (and have passed many) anti-women laws that do everything from requiring invasive, rape-like sonograms to cutting off access to birth control.
This misogynist party is closing down women’s clinics that provide necessary healthcare to women during their pregnancy all over the country. Republicans especially like to hate Planned Parenthood (#standwithpp). The GOP has taken aim at Planned Parenthood with an uncomfortable success rate due to a warped, but successful, mass-marketing effort.
GOP Cuts Child Programs
Yes, Republicans want their women bare-foot and pregnant in the worst way. Then once the babies are born, they slash programs that support those children. These are just a few of the programs the right-wingers want to kill:
- WIC (women, infants, and children) provides milk, cheese, and other most basic supplies.
- Early childhood education
- School breakfast and lunch programs
- Financial support and healthcare for homeless or struggling families.
