Dogs can do some crazy things, and can also make some big messes. I once walked in on my dog and saw her with my new pair of Nike tennis shoes in her mouth. She had destroyed the shoestrings and started to gnaw on the rest of the shoes. But the way she looked at me, what that combination of what can only be guilt and a certain amount of pride, meant there was no way I could stay mad at her.
The dogs pictured below have gone way beyond chewing up a pair of tennis shoes. These dogs are so cute in their guilt that you cannot help but believe them, and forgive them, just like I did my dog those years ago.
“Didn’t know you’d be home so early.”
“Oh…hi.”
“What…this? No idea.”
“Now THIS is comfortable.”
“I’ve assessed the damage, and renovation will be needed.”
“I’ve been sitting here the whole time.”
“I was just running a bath for you…”
“I got these for you!”
“Was just taking the trash out!”
“I can explain…”
