Ruby-Red Slippers

Year after year, as I was growing up, I thrilled to the amazing show. Even though I’m from Kansas and have been in a tornado or two, Dorothy’s world was way far from my reality.

I was especially fond of her magic slippers ? those glittery, ruby-red shoes. I even tried to click my heels together when I knew I was in big trouble. But the heel-click never did a thing for me. I must admit I felt a bit betrayed. Then I grew up.

I found that when I heard they were stolen, I was terribly disappointed. They were our shoes! We could go visit them at the museum if we happened to be in Garland’s hometown, Grand Rapids, Minn. The mere thought of those ruby shoes takes us back to days when we believed in magic.

Sure she wore four different pairs, but this was an important set. The stolen shoes came from a museum in Garland’s hometown. Three pairs are still around, including one at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, in Washington, D.C.

Executive director of the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, John Kelsch, says the donor is, ??from Arizona and is a huge fan of Garland and the 1939 movie.?

Will Send Money

So here is the deal: if you want the donor to send money, you must tell where the ruby slippers are located ? exactly, and the thief’s name. I want to know the real name of that Wicked *itch Of The West, too!

The slippers were insured for $1 million and may have appreciated to $2 million or $3 million today. But they are truly priceless.
