Wonder how those who are hell bent on defying the Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage would feel if the shoe was on the other foot? What if they went to their county office and were told they would not be served because they’re Christian and intolerant of others? I bet you could hear them yelp for hundreds of miles.

But Monday in Morehead, Kentucky, a clerk did exactly that to a same-sex couple who arrived to receive a marriage license.?David Vincent Moore and his fiance have attempted to get a marriage license before and been turned away, but this time they brought someone to video what transpired.

Moore and his fiance waiedt 10 minutes, as you can clearly see in the video, and then a police officer appeared and allowed?them to approach the counter. Yes, a cop has to allow them to approach the clerk, as if she’s some kind of royalty!

Initially the couple is told that the clerk is “busy” and cannot help them. Her Royal Highness Kim Davis finally appears and tells them they will have to stop filming in her office. Even though they have every legal right to do so!

Thankfully, despite this setback, the ACLU of Kentucky has stepped in and is suing Davis?for her refusal to carry out the duty of issuing marriage licenses. Davis is being represented by the Liberty Counsel, a group of right wing legal hacks who attach themselves to any high-profile case they can possibly chase after.

Davis later said of her actions:

“What has happened is that five lawyers have imposed their personal view of what the definition of marriage should be on the rest of us. And I, as a Christian, have strong views, too. And I know I don’t stand alone.”

But?Laura Landenwich of the Kentucky ACLU remarked:

?Ms. Davis has the absolute right to believe whatever she wants about God, faith, and religion, but as a government official who swore an oath to uphold the law, she cannot pick and choose who she is going to serve, or which duties her office will perform based on her religious beliefs.”

Exactly! If Ms. Davis feels so strongly about her religious beliefs, why doesn’t she just resign in protest of the Supreme Court ruling? Might it be because she likes getting paid more than she loves her God?
