Fogle, the famous pitchman for Subway, one of the world’s largest restaurant chains, was not placed into custody, but many electronic devices were removed from his residence.

The name ‘Jared’ became synonymous with Subway in 2000 when the then-425-pound student from Indiana University announced that he had lost over 200 pounds by eating Subway sandwiches and exercising, leading to him making many appearances on the restaurant’s commercials and billboards.

Fogle also started the ‘Jared Foundation,’ an organization with the goal of fighting childhood obesity.

FBI Special Agent Wendy Osborne said that the agency is currently “conducting investigative activity in the area,” but due to the investigation still being ongoing, “the details couldn’t be discussed at this time.”

A spokesperson for Subway released a statement on today’s raid.

?”We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee. We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely. We don’t have any more details at this point.”

The former executive director of The Jared Foundation, Russell Taylor,?was arrested and charged with eight felonies related to child pornography back in April after police received a tip from a female acquaintance about him offering to show her photos of underage girls. After receiving the photos via text, she alerted the police.

In May, Taylor attempted to commit suicide at the Marion County Jail and was placed on life support.

Tim Horty of the U.S. Attorney’s office wouldn’t confirm or deny Fogle’s involvement in the investigation, but added that Taylor condition has improved and he is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
