Apparently, the traditional family as we know it is damned. Worse, the whole world is collapsing around us. At least that is what former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) said about the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage.
Santorum’s Stupid Hole
Santorum appeared on CBS? Face The Nation show on Sunday, and he just kept digging his stupid hole deeper and deeper. He said gay marriage, “put the nail in the coffin,” of the different-sex parented family.
His earlier comments?about the recent Supreme Court ruling, specifically those of Justice Anthony Kennedy, just weren’t enough. Now Santorum says the law is ?potentially disrupting the foundation of the world.? Never mind that most first world nations already have same-sex marriage.
Dark Ages Thinking
It seems that Santorum and his fundamentalist club believe that marriage is only about procreating. Really? There is something unnatural about this belief system. It reminds me of the Dark Ages thinking that a man’s seed is a measure of his worth, and the wife and children are his possessions.
The former senator believes that the U.S. is “still the moral leader of the free world,” but the all-knowing politician believes the Supreme Court simply did not know what it was doing. Santorum said,
“Marriage is no longer about kids, it’s simply about adults.”
Santorum, what about the children same-sex couples adopt? Don’t they count?
And those out-of-wedlock children disturb Santorum to no end. I guess he is returning to that antiquated thinking where a cuckolded?man was stuck rearing another man’s child while all the neighbors tittered behind his back.
Santorum, come out of the dark ages, please!
