Finally, A Safe And Novel Way To Thank Other Drivers When You’re On The Road (Video)

Driving can be incredibly stressful at times, especially when there’s lots of traffic and you need to make a lane change so you can access the exit you need. Then, right at the perfect moment, someone waves you over into the lane and you want to thank them. When that happens, what do you do?

Like most folks, I put my hand up in a wave to acknowledge that kind gesture on the other motorist’s behalf. But could there possibly be another of saying thanks?

Thanks to a new invention, called MotorMood, there is indeed a way. MotorMood consists of a smiley face that lights up when you press a button located on the visor of your car. It’s kind of like the driver’s own personal emoji.

MotorMood is not yet available in stores, but you can help correct that problem, too, according to MotorMood vice president Alex Sewell. The company has created a Kickstarter campaign online?in the hopes of raising?$130,500 by July 30. So far they have about $36,000 pledged. Sewell added:

“There are many things that you can use MotorMood to say. Thanks for letting me into your lane, thanks for turning off your brights, and thank you for letting me know that the light turned green.”

The cost of MotorMood is also quite reasonable. You’ll be able to get one for $30, but you can get a custom-made one for free if you donate $100 or more to the company’s Kickstarter page.

How cool is that?
